At Drop In, we understand that for some young people the decision to seek help may have been a long or painful process. Outlined below is an explanation of what happens and make it all a bit less nerve racking!

Drop In is.....

A voluntary organisation -- that means we are independent

We work on first name terms. We don't usually need to know your full name--just a first name or  your nickname!

We are free -- there is no charge for the counselling.

We will treat you with respect -- we believe that all young people have the right to make up their own mind, to be responsible for their own decisions. You will be treated with a warmth and acceptance in a non-judgemental way.

ALL Croydon young people can come to Drop In, irrespective of gender, race, sexuality, ability, class, culture, religious belief etc. We have an equal opportunity policy and do not discriminate.

We are confidential:

We have a policy on confidentiality which states:

We aim to provide a confidential service to young people
aged 11--25 within the Croydon area.

This means that any information from young people using this service will be treated as strictly confidential to the agency, unless the agency has explicit permission of the young person to act otherwise.

If you would like more information on any of our policies, please speak to a duty worker.

If you would like information on other counselling services, please contact The British Association of Counselling. Click here for their web site
